You pick the stone, I'll work with you.

I create custom jewelry pieces on a regular basis, but not everyone knows that. So when I revised my web site I added a button near the top right of the screen.

When you click the Custom Piece/Pick a Stone button you navigate to the page shown below. I'm still loading stones onto my gemstone web site, this is still a work in progress. I hope to be far enough along in a week or so to notify current customers by email.

That type you can't read says: I create custom jewelry pieces using the input of the recipient with a cabochon of their choosing. Below are examples of cabochons of many of the varieties of gemstones I have cut in my lapidary operation. Click any of the pictures to view an assortment of stones of that variety. You will see stone dimensions and the prices of the unset stones. If you are interested in beginning a dialog about the design of a custom piece of jewelry you can email to me directly at quentin@lunarskies.com to begin the process. If you would just like to purchase a cabochon from the page you are free to do so as long as the stone has not been put on hold by a potential buyer.

Blue Lace Agate, but is it really Blue?

My newest jewelry creations feature the gemstone called blue lace agate. To me it looks grey with a blue cast. I didn't come up with the name, but I like it.  I made the pendants with open backs to allow light to filter through the crystal striations. Blue Lace Agate comes from Africa,  it was originally discovered in Nambia. A member of the chalcedony group, a type of quartz. Named for the white striations or banding running through blue stone giving it a delicate lacey look.
